Facets by Eric J. Gates
A Review of ‘Facets’
‘Facets’ is the intriguing title of this fascinating novel about an African boy of only fourteen in the first chapter, who is dubbed The Lion Man by his fellows, all of whom are much older than himself. It traces the story of the boy to an indeterminate age, but that of an adult at least and illustrates how he runs his life by principles taught him at an early age by his father.
The Lion Man finds truth and honesty in those principles and enforces them at all times.
You might or might not warm to The Lion Man, but you will find this book a page-turner and respect him for living up to his principles no matter what.
I have read much of Gates’ work and love his approach to detail and personality. I look forward to reading more and I am sure you will too.
