Blogging for Pleasure and Fun
There are many reasons why someone might come to blogging. For example, you may want to use your blog to promote your business or website; you may want to use it to promote your ideas, philosophy, religion or politics; you may want to blog content to make some extra money or you may just take up blogging for pleasure and fun. In fact many people start blogging for pleasure and fun and then decide to monetize their personal blog later.
This article is about blogging for pleasure and fun and not the commercial aspects of blogging which we will look at elsewhere on this website.
Blogging for pleasure and fun can also have various genres, so we will take a look at a few of these. Families are more fragmented these days than ever before. Some members of your family may work abroad, while other family members may live a long way away or be travelling.
Social media like Facebook is great for keeping the family in touch with one another, but Facebook is basically a public forum. Your family could have a private blog which each member could log into and post on. Everybody could post their photos and experiences. It is very easy to set up such a private blog either on your own website or at Blogger, for example.
You could also have a public section for your immediate family itself and a public section for more remote family that you do not yet know well. The blog could also hold an up to date record of everyone’s contact information, because it is so easy to lose contact when someone changes their email address or phone number.
You may want to write a blog because you are passionate about something. For example, if you love pigeon racing, you may want to create a blog on your interest. You could blog about your own pigeons or and about the races or shows that they have been in or won prizes at. You could include photos too. It is easy to money as a blogger from this sort of website either from the start or later on as it is a very popular sport.
You could start blogging because you like to write creatively. Perhaps you like to write poetry or short stories but are not yet ready to look for a publisher or to publish in print. A blog is a great way to test the water when writing for your own pleasure and fun. No reader could argue with free poetry or prose.
Lately, we have seen violence in several Arabic countries in northern Africa, in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Burma. People in these countries have taken to blogging to get their on political or religious views across because they feel that the national press is not listening to or representing them.
Blogging is a great way to cover national events that you feel passionate about whether it is political, religious, sport, a natural disaster like an earthquake, government corruption or whatever. Most of the reporters in this field are new to blogging.
Blogging for pleasure or fun or make a point is easy to accomplish, yet as a blogger you could reach millions or even tens of millions of readers in weeks or even days.
